CEDIA Certified Cabling & Infrastructure Technician (CIT) Exam

Certifications

The CIT certification is for technicians in the first few years of their career who are looking to demonstrate their foundational knowledge and skills related to low voltage infrastructure cabling and basic equipment installation. Certified technicians are able to use proper tools and techniques, follow instructions per project documentation, and operate in a safe and professional manner on the jobsite. They understand the basic function of wiring and termination components being installed and are aware of common equipment and systems applications which they may assist with mounting and installing during later phases of a project. While these individuals typically work under supervision, this certification indicates to employers that they are jobsite ready, can work billable hours performing cabling and installation support.

Note: to enter the testing area on exam day, students must bring two forms of ID and have completed their exam application online. After registration, students will be emailed by the CEDIA Certification team with specific instructions on completing their exam application. Please view the CIT website and Candidate Handbook for more details on preparing for your exam.
