CANCELLATION 

How did you make this decision?

Maintaining the health and safety of everyone is paramount to us. Amidst growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and after having extensive conversations with many of you, we made the difficult decision to cancel CEDIA Expo 2020, which had been scheduled for September 8-12, 2020 in Denver.

This is due to developments regarding COVID-19 including, but not limited to, the current status of the Colorado Convention Center as a medical care facility for non-emergency cases related to COVID-19; the latest federal measures, including guidelines on the phased reopening of the U.S. economy; the declaration by the WHO of COVID-19 as a pandemic; the number of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; current quarantines, containment areas, stay at home orders, and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies. Maintaining the health and safety of each of our customers, partners, and employees remains paramount to us.

What do I need to do about my CEDIA Expo 2020 Booth Space/Sponsorships?

In the coming weeks, all 2020 exhibiting companies will receive an email from associate show director, Ashley Sprengnether, with a link to rollover orders/funds to another 2020/2021 CEDIA Expo event. Including CEDIA Expo 2021.

If none of the alternate event options are right for your business at this time and/or you have additional questions, you can also choose to speak with your Account Executive and they will reach out as soon as possible to discuss all available options.

Will my 2020 sponsorships roll over to 2021?

Yes, we would love for you to continue your sponsorship in 2021, but they will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Your account executive will be in touch.

Should I cancel my orders for utilities and services placed with official vendors as well as orders not placed with Emerald official vendors?

Please reach out to the contact you placed your order with. If you placed an order with Shepard, please contact targets@shepardes.com for credits or to finalize billing. For a full list of official vendors and contact information click here.

Are there any plans to host a virtual experience or other opportunities to connect?

While we are deeply disappointed that we will not be coming together in person this September, we are already hard at work developing a virtual experience for our connected tech community. The virtual experience will offer everything you need to take your residential tech business to the next level. From session panels surrounding hot topics to keynotes, product discovery, networking and an interactive expo hall, we are committed to keeping you connected.

What steps will be taken to update health and safety protocols at future shows?

When we meet again, know that we will be working with partners and the Indiana Convention Center to implement additional precautions and protocols and ensure the health and safety of all in attendance. We will be following all guidelines set forth by the CDC and state and local health authorities.

What if I receive a message from someone claiming to provide access to CEDIA Expo attendee information?

Please be cautious should you receive unsolicited emails from someone claiming to have access to CEDIA Expo contacts or asking you to register for the show or for other information. This may be an example of an emerging scam targeting attendees and exhibitors of large events that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. See a list of CEDIA Expo’s approved vendors here.

How can I cancel my flight?

Many airlines are offering waived change fees at this time. We strongly recommend cancelling your flight as soon as possible.

How do I cancel my hotel?

If you booked a room in the CEDIA Expo hotel block via OnPeak, CEDIA Expo’s official housing vendor, please reach out to CEDIAExpo@onpeak.com.

If you booked a hotel reservation outside of our block, you will need to cancel your reservation on your own.

When will the next CEDIA Expo show be held?

The next CEDIA Expo is still scheduled for September 1-3, 2021 in Indianapolis, IN, home to the CEDIA Association. We’ll keep you informed as details come together and plans become actions.

What does the expo-only pass include?

The expo-only pass includes:

What type of identification is needed to pick up my badge?

What are the education and certification policies?

You must register for each class you plan to attend. All sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are not on the class roster, you are not permitted in the classroom. Changes are permitted online or onsite to other sessions that are still available. Attendees may transfer to other eligible classes free of charge if utilizing the CEDIA Training Pass.

If you are more than 15 minutes late to a class, your seat is not guaranteed. After 15 minutes, you are considered a no-show and your seat may be given to a wait-listed individual. No refunds will be given for no-shows.

Course schedules are subject to change. If a course is cancelled, your fee for that course will be refunded at the time of the cancellation. If a change in the course schedule results in your inability to participate in a selected class, your fee for that course will be refunded.

No refunds will be issued due to conflicts with manufacturer product training or non-CEDIA sponsored events.

Who should attend CEDIA Expo?

CEDIA Expo brings together home tech pros and exhibitors to the leading event in smart and home technology.

Can I take photographs during the show?

Show Management is respectful of the time and resources utilized by each exhibitor and speaker in the research and development of new and exciting products for the consumer technology marketplace. In an effort to protect our exhibitors and speakers, unauthorized photography or video recording is not allowed on the Expo Floor or in Conference Session rooms at CEDIA Expo without first obtaining permission from the exhibitor or speaker. Violators will be ejected from the show and could be denied entry to future CEDIA Expo events and/or be prosecuted.

Can I bring my child to the show?

Yes. Children under 18 must be accompanied and supervised at all times while on the exhibit floor. Registration for children is complimentary and must be done on-site. All children except infants in backpacks or slings must be registered and badged to be admitted to the exhibit areas. Strollers for children are permitted in the exhibit areas during published show hours. Attendees assume all risks associated with the use of strollers on the show floor, including but not limited to personal injury or property damage.

How do I find out if my booth meets all regulations?

Exhibitors should first reference the booth guidelines for your type of booth as well as the Hanging Sign & Graphics Guidelines (if you qualify and will have a hanging sign) in the CEDIA Expo 2021 Exhibitor Service Manual (coming soon). 

How do I update my exhibitor listing?

Please access your Exhibitor Console to make changes. Questions? Feel free to reach out to your Account Executive for guidance.

Can I provide samples of food and/or beverage in my booth?

When can we break down our booth?

Setup and dismantle hours can be found in the CEDIA Expo 2021 Exhibitor Service manual (coming soon).

What insurance coverage do I need and who should be listed as additional insured?

ALL EXHIBITORS ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE AND CARRY PROOF OF INSURANCE TO SHOW SITE! You must submit your insurance documents online through your Exhibitor Portal or you may submit your COL’s directly to derrick.nelloms@emeraldx.com. 

How do I get an International Visa letter of invitation?

Visa letters can be requested during the registration process. If you are having trouble securing your Visa letter, please contact cediaexh@experient-inc.com or Customer Service toll free at 800-465-5514. International #, please call 847-996- 5814.
