PerfTech, Inc., a creator of specialized networking products, expands its Island® brand router line with the upcoming Island Pro, a wired router built for bandwidth-demanding homes and small-mid-sized businesses. The multi-gig Island Pro sports a rack-mount form factor, 6×2.5 Gbps plus 4×10 Gbps ports, and supports up to 20,000 devices. “The Island brand was created to give customers a fast, exceptional experience and the peace of mind that their network is safe and dependable,” stated CEO Lewis Donzis. The Island Pro will be on display in booth #4129 at CEDIA, September 5-7 in Denver.
ISLAND Flagship Features: Performance, Security, Reliability
Island Pro’s efficient packet engine optimizes small-packet transactions, outperforming competitive routers by up to tenfold. The router offers a full slate of safeguards including a firewall, intrusion prevention, DPI filtering against 8 types of threat ware, DNS inspection with conversion to DoH, and the WireGuard VPN. Filtering also enables parental and office controls. With enterprise-class hardware and modular software architecture, the router is virtually impervious to crashes and rarely reboots, even for updates; if needed, reboots take about half a minute. Multi-WAN failovers occur seamlessly for constant uptime.
Compatibilities, Pricing, and Availability
Island and Island Pro can be paired with most all brands of Wi-Fi APs, mesh systems, and switches. The Island app simplifies management by device, user, group, and interface. Both routers are OvrC and Domotz compatible. Subscription-free, Island Pro retails at $1299; Island at $499. Island is available now; Island Pro is slated to ship this year in Q4.
