Simplified Acoustics is announcing a new line of Made in America, all-wood acoustical diffusers.
The first two products are the GSR and the OCG. The GSR is a visually striking Geometric-Stepped-Reflector (GSR). The OCG is an Open-Cell Grid (OCG) Diffuser. Within the goals of simplifying great sounding and great looking media rooms, these units offer a combination of acoustical performance, price and presentation not available previously with diffusion products.
The GSR is 2’x2’x4.5″. At its core, it is a simple geometric reflector that re-directs midrange sound reflections. The name Geometric-Stepped-Reflector holds the clue of the special qualities of the GSR, which are the individual stepped wells providing excellent high frequency acoustical scattering. The combination of the re-direction of midrange sound paths with high frequency scatter creates a smooth response that improves the immersive audio experience. Perfect for rear sidewalls and the rear wall of performance driven media rooms.
The OCG is 2’x2’x3″. This type of diffusion has many uses and can be used in conjunction with absorption backing or in front of a hard surface. This unit provides time spread edge diffraction of upper midrange reflections and increased absorption efficiency (when used in conjunction with SAP absorption panels).
