DENVER, CO (August 21, 2024) – PowerShades, an industry-leading provider of manual and automated window shades for residential, commercial, and hospitality applications, will unveil smart lighting products at CEDIA 2024, October 5-7, in Denver.
The introduction of smart lighting, along with motorized awnings, signals PowerShades’ strategy to expand into additional aspects of the smart-home setting beyond its popular motorized shades.
“We’ve been a fixture in the motorized shade market for years,” said PowerShades CEO Ryan Chacon. “Yet while we have enjoyed significant success with those products, we believe that diversification is the key to long-term success. The addition of smart lighting is a perfect gateway into the broader smart-home ecosystem, given the growing demand from consumers, as well as the ongoing requests from our dealers and distributors.”
The numbers back up Chacon’s observation. The global smart lighting market is expected to experience a compound annual growth rate of 22.1% from 2023 to 2030 to reach a hefty $72.35 billion (USD) by 2030.
PowerShades’ smart lighting will be available in both Down Lighting and Flex RGBW Strip Lighting, plus assorted sizes, styles, colors, and beam angles. Down Lighting has been designed to be completely agnostic of the control system, making it extremely versatile. They have a very smooth dimming response and are dimmable down to 1%.
The company is partnering with Converging Systems for control of the new Flex RGBW Strip Lighting, as their eNode controllers have drivers for all the major control systems. Both products will be available exclusively through the Powerhouse Alliance), PowerShades’ distribution partner. Retractable motorized awnings will be offered in three fixed sizes and will feature built-in LED lighting.
The company will also expand its motorized shade products by adding Zebra Shades. These PowerShades-branded motorized shades are designed to provide both blackout and light-filtering capabilities in one sleek system.
These new products will also be complemented by the company’s flagship PoE and battery-powered motorized shades, along with new motors and gateways.
