Origin Acoustics Announces New Explorer Marine Loudspeaker
Collection
CEDIA 2018 – San Diego, CA (August 1, 2018) –Origin Acoustics,
a leading manufacturer of architectural loudspeakers and custom installed audio
announces the arrival of the Explorer
Collection at CEDIA Expo 2018, Exhibit #3042, at the San Diego Convention
Center on September 6-8, 2018.
Origin Acoustics Explorer collection is a marine grade
loudspeaker offering with a level of resistance to the elements that insures
years of sonic performance. Made up of eight models there is a solution for
most every application.
The round models are available in a 6” two-way and 8” and
10” two-way and three-way versions. In addition, there is a fixed pivot and a
stereo/surround version in the 8” size as well. The sole rectangular model
features a 4”x 8” woofer and an aluminum dome tweeter. There is also a 10-inch
in-wall sub with a sealed, extruded aluminum enclosure.
The water resistance is accomplished through a number of
processes. The grilles feature a special coating that is superior to any
competitive electroplated and powder coated grille surface. This same coating
is used to weatherize all exposed crossover components and connections.
Additional gaskets were inserted into any spaces that would allow water
penetration and stainless-steel hardware was used to avoid corrosion. The
actual speaker wire connections are made with Phoenix connectors to insure a
secure path for the audio signal.
All of these efforts have resulted in an IPX6 rating from
the IEC, which means the speaker will continue to produce beautiful music in
spite of powerful water jets focused on the product from any angle.
