URC INTRODUCES NEW ARCHITECTURAL SPEAKER LINE UP, 4 TIMES MORE EFFICIENT TO INSTALL

Denver, CO (September 12, 2019)—URC, a global leader in smart automation and control for residential and commercial applications introduced their first-ever line of architectural speakers today at the 2019 CEDIA Expo show. The line consists of 4 models of in-ceiling speakers and a pair of outdoor speakers, all available mid-October.

“We had two key objectives in developing an architectural line of speakers,” said Chang Park, President and Owner of URC. “Of course, sound quality was most important, but we gave the team the challenge of developing an in-ceiling speaker line up that was the fastest in the industry to install.”  URC’s in-ceiling speakers feature patented true ”Tool-less” secure clamping design and removeable speaker wire terminals, providing a significant time advantage over a conventional in-ceiling speaker.  “We did some installation time trials throughout development,” said Lars Granoe, Vice President of Product Development. “Each speaker takes less than 1 minute to install, saving time and ultimately money. And they sound great, too!” 

URC offers four models of in-ceiling speakers with this innovative design.   The flagship model SP-8EX features an 8-inch woven fiber cone woofer, a 1-inch magnesium aluminum dome tweeter and retails for MSRP $525 per pair.  For those wanting comparable performance in a smaller form factor, URC is also introducing the SP-6EX, which has a 6.5-inch woven fiber cone woofer and a 1-inch magnesium aluminum dome tweeter (MSRP $450 per pair).   URC also is introducing an entry level offering with a 6.5-inch polypropylene mica cone woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter (MSRP $330 / pair). Rounding out the line of new in-ceiling speakers is a single stereo offering, featuring a 6.5-inch polypropylene injection molded woofer and dual ¾-inch silk dome tweeters (MSRP $249 / each). 

All in-ceiling speaker models feature the ability to adjust the EQ of the speaker to fine tune the listening experience and include paintable frameless magnetic grilles.

URC also launched their first water resistant outdoor speakers, featuring a 6.5-inch polypropylene cone woofer and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter.  The SP-OD6BL (black) and SP-OD6WH (white) retail for MSRP $450 / pair.
