Technology Event of the Year CEDIA Expo 2018 Kicks Off

and Attendees Rave about Show Energy
San Diego, CA
(September 7, 2018) — CEDIA Expo 2018 opened at the San Diego Convention
Center yesterday and kicked off three days of dynamic exhibitor spaces,
engaging panel discussions and all-new educational conference sessions centered
around the intelligently connected built environment. This year’s show is a
next-level experience for attendees looking to expand their network of
technology integrators, manufacturers, and members of the design community.
Yesterday’s highlights included the debut of the CEDIA Expo
SmartStage with TechTalks on trends in
IoT by CABA, voice activation within the home by Parks Associates, and a Women
in Consumer Technology (WICT) presentation on the impact of technology on
design.
TechBites, an exciting new series of brand “speed-dates,”
thrilled the SmartStage audience as spokespeople from Vanco Technologies, AXIS
Labs, Streamlabs, ABB Inc., TV Template, and Flo Technologies debuted products
in three minutes and answered audience questions for another three minutes.
“TechBites was a great way to learn about a bunch of
products in under an hour and take a physical break, too,” said Robin Rigby
Fisher, principle designer of Robin Rigby Fisher Designs.
Another show “first,” day one of the Design Connection Tour kicked
off with David VanWert, principal of VanWert Technology Design, leading
designers, architects and builders around the CEDIA Expo show floor to select
exhibitor booths where they could see the latest products and learn how to integrate
them into their design projects.
“I learned more in those two hours than I could have in two
years of research,” said Dawn DeLuca, founder and principal of Dawn Deluca on
Design.
Participants of the Design Connection tour, select VIP media
and brand representatives then gathered in the Leon Speakers booth for the
first-ever Bourbon & Brownies networking event to unwind and exchange ideas
around design and technology. Wrapping up day one, the CEPro Awards recognized
products chosen by industry leaders for innovation, functionality, competitive
advantage and benefit to the installer.
