What’s New at CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026? Here’s What Attendees Need to Know

Published: April 5, 2026

The CEDIA Expo/CIX team have been hard at work making sure that the 2026 edition of the event is the best yet. To achieve this, they’re introducing a series of updates aimed at adding flexibility for attendees, expanding educational opportunities, and enhancing engagement across both the residential and commercial integration markets.

Everything New Coming to CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026

There are several important changes that attendees won’t want to miss, so here’s what you need to know before you go.

NEW DATE PATTERN: Flexibility Before Labor Day

One of the most notable changes for 2026 is a revised event schedule. Organizers have adjusted the timing to conclude before Labor Day weekend, giving attendees more flexibility in their travel plans.

The exhibit hall will run Wednesday, September 2 through Friday, September 4, while CEDIA Education begins Tuesday, September 1 and continues through Thursday, September 3. The shift reflects ongoing efforts to improve attendee experience while maintaining a full slate of programming.

Instead of extending into the holiday weekend, attendees can leave Denver on Friday and enjoy the last weekend of the Summer on their own time or extend their stay over the holiday weekend to enjoy all that Denver and Colorado has to offer.

NEW HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES: Skill Challenges

New for 2026, the CEDIA Expo Skills Challenge introduces a live, hands-on competition highlighting technical proficiency across key integration disciplines. The competition will feature challenges in cable termination, rack building, speaker installation, and troubleshooting, with daily heats leading to a final showdown on the last day of the show.

The addition reflects a broader industry focus on workforce development and technical excellence.

NEW OPENING FESTIVITIES: Battle of the Bands

The show will kick off with the Battle of the Bands Opening Party on Wednesday evening. The event will feature industry musicians and a performance by the CE Pro All Star Band, providing a networking opportunity in a more informal setting.

NEW PROGRAMMING: Smart Stage Revamp

CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026 will continue to emphasize forward-looking insights through its conference programming.

At the Smart Stage, there will be two State of the Industry panels: one including leaders of industry associations and buying groups, and another featuring executives from leading manufacturers – the first of its kind.

Smart Stage panels will feature discussions of prevalent trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping the custom integration channel. Topics are expected to include market conditions, emerging technologies, and business strategies.

Additionally, the CEDIA Expo/CIX keynote reveal is just around the corner! Expect fresh thinking on how creativity and imagination can fuel innovation and unlock a whole new world of possibilities for your clients.

Design/Build Programming

Organizers are also placing increased emphasis on engaging architects, designers, and builders.

Programming includes a dedicated CEDIA Design/Build education track, Smart Stage sessions curated by CE Pro and Commercial Integrator, and the Technology Designer’s Day of Discovery. The Day of Discovery will offer curated show floor tours, education sessions, and networking opportunities aimed at bridging the gap between design and technology.

The exhibit floor will also highlight lighting and smart home innovations, particularly within the Lighting Pavilion.

NEW AWARDS: Best Booth and Revamped CE Pro Awards

CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026 will also introduce the show’s first-ever Best Booth Awards, recognizing exhibitors for design, storytelling, and engagement. Attendees will also be able to participate in a People’s Choice Award, adding a new layer of interactivity to the show floor.

In addition to the Smart Stage’s usual curation of thought leadership content on several hard-hitting topics in the custom integration industry, the stage will also host the annual presentation of the CE Pro BEST Product Awards and the Home of the Year Awards. This year, both programs will feature new categories designed to reflect changes in the industry and emerging technologies. (Winners of last year’s awards can be found here and here, respectively).

NEW EDUCATION: CEDIA Conference Refresh

The 2026 show will feature more than 100 complimentary manufacturer training sessions, offering hands-on learning opportunities across product categories and system design strategies.

Smart home professional association and show partner CEDIA is also refreshing its Education Conference with updated sessions spanning business, technical, and emerging technology tracks, designed to provide actionable insights for integrators at all experience levels.

On the show floor, attendees can expect more than 20 live audio and home theater demonstrations, showcasing immersive systems and next-generation AV technologies.

The Launchpad will highlight new-to-market brands and first-time exhibitors, offering a look at emerging technologies and companies entering the space.

Continued Evolution of the Event

With updates spanning scheduling, education, experiential programming, and exhibitor engagement, CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026 reflects an ongoing evolution of the event to better align with industry needs.

The additions underscore a growing emphasis on professional development, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and exposure to new technologies as the custom integration market continues to mature.
