We believe in the philosophy of continuous improvement! That’s why we added the new features to Untwist Tool and improved the old ones. But before we go into the details, let us introduce you to the Untwist Tool.
The Untwist Tool separates the twisted pair wire with a fine tip, using slight pressure and centrifugal force, and straightens the wires with grooves.
We have been searching for a better way to separate twisted pairs and that’s how this specialty tool was born. The past practice was to drag a small screwdriver through the pairs, spin the cable’s other jacket through the pairs, or just untwist pairs by hand. All three of these methods require continuous use of your fingertips, and on larger installs, can leave your fingertips sore for days. That’s where the Untwist Tool comes in handy. It is simple to use, fast, and eliminates that pain in your fingers!
The first version of Untwist Tool hit the market two years ago. Since then, we’ve been working on significant product improvement. The Untwist Tool V2 was introduced last year and put into the spotlight during the ISCWest where it won an award for the Best in Emerging Technologies. The inner workings of the Untwist Tool were completely redesigned to simplify operation. The V2 included a Coupling Boot that goes between the Driver’s shaft and the Untwist Tool’s head. We also added more groves for straightening and improved the shape of the grooves.
The V2 was made specifically with CAT5e and CAT6 cables in mind and this is what our customers are saying:

Yes, we made a revolutionary product, but we didn’t stop here. Untwisted Tech is launching the Untwist Tool Pro version at CEDIA Expo, which will be available for shipping in October 2022.
The Pro Version offers all the same features as V2 and has some pretty cool updates.

A bit of a background and how the tool was made. Boris, the founder of the Untwist Tool, couldn’t deal with the fact that there is no tool to help with untwisting twisted pair wires. After 22 failed attempts, the Untwist Tool was born. While trying to put it out on the market and operating from his ‘basement’ (one-bedroom apartment during COVID lockdown), he ran into the tool enthusiasts, the owners of the Tech Tool Supply, who saw the Untwist Tool’s potential. Now the three partners – Brent Hagood, Deepak Batra, and Boris Braun are the guys behind the Untwisted Tech and Untwist Tool. With Brent and Deepak’s fresh ideas, the V2 was created and now the Pro version is on the horizon.
