to bring the best of Russound’s architectural speaker technology to the in-wall
market
Newmarket, NH – September 12, 2019 – Only months after launching the IC-Series of
architectural in-ceiling speakers at the ISE Expo in Amsterdam, Russound has now further
expanded its loudspeaker assortment with the new IW-620 enhanced performance in-wall
loudspeaker.
Russound CEO Charlie Porritt was justly proud to announce the company’s latest
innovation. “Russound dealers have been loud and clear in their praise of our SwiftLock
mounting system with its easy, quick installation without the need for a drill or even a
screwdriver. Getting jobs done faster means more profitable jobs and the ability to get
started on new jobs more quickly. SwiftLock has really been a game changer for
Russound’s dealers and installers.” The tool-less installation system from Russound,
known as SwiftLock greatly reduces installation time by using a patented spring-tensioned
rotation and locking dog system. Speakers with SwiftLock install with the simple press of
three easy-to-reach buttons.
Installer-focused Design
When launching this new addition to its speaker assortment, Russound gathered feedback
from its installer-base to focus on the key features that were most-requested.

NanoPerf™ magnetic grilles and the great sound of our 20-Series in-ceiling speakers, and

Featuring a 6.5” injection-molded polypropylene woofer and a 1” silk dome tweeter, the
IW-620 was acoustically matched to Russound’s other 20-series loudspeakers, the IC620 and the IC-820 so that they can be used interchangeably in an installation and
guarantee a similar tonal balance throughout the home.
With high-end features not normally found at this price point such as an inverted butyl
rubber surround, an integrated woofer basket/frame, and premium crossover components
that result in a very efficient 90db sensitivity and an impressive frequency response of
47Hz-20kHz.
