Somfy Synergy™ API Launches to Expand
Motorized Shading Integration
The New Somfy Synergy™ API Provides a Simple
Way to Speak to Somfy Motorized Products.
Systems, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of tubular motors for interior
and exterior window coverings, introduces the new Somfy Synergy™ Application
Programming Interface (API), an open, simplified way to integrate Somfy
motorization solutions into third-party control systems. This publicly
available API makes it easy to integrate Somfy motorized shading solutions into
nearly every home automation system.
“The new Somfy Synergy API is part of Somfy’s commitment to offering flexible integration
options to work with a wide variety of projects,” said Tom Murphy, Chief
Operating Officer of Somfy North America.
When combined with Somfy integration interfaces, Somfy’s new
API will provide consistency, customization and easy adoption for integrators
to seamlessly integrate motorized window coverings and customize their clients’
experiences. The Somfy Synergy API is publicly available and forms the
foundation of new Somfy drivers for Control4, Crestron and Savant.
The Synergy API requires the Somfy Connect™ Universal
Automation Interface (UAI) for integration with Somfy Digital Network™ (SDN)
systems or the Somfy myLink™ WiFi to RTS
Interface for Radio Technology Somfy® (RTS) systems.
The Somfy Synergy API joins a long list of Somfy integration
devices and controls, including Z-Wave®, ZigBee®, Serial, Dry Contact and IP
interfaces. These options mean Somfy motors can work with any size project and
with a wide variety of automation systems. This improved integration allows
users to experience the benefits of motorized window coverings for residential
homes and commercial buildings, including energy saving, protection, privacy
“Adding motorized shading is the perfect way to complete the
home automation puzzle, and now it’s even easier with the Somfy Synergy API,” Murphy
more about the Somfy Synergy API.
