FISHERS, Ind. (May 8, 2019) – Registration has opened for CEDIA’s new Awards and Leadership Conference. The conference, designed for executive leadership, will offer attendees a full day of education sessions followed by the CEDIA Awards Celebration.
“We really wanted to think outside the box for this event and find session topics and speakers that would appeal to a wide range of leaders within our industry,” said Tom Darling, senior vice president of education and certification. “The goal was to offer a mix of both tactical and strategic sessions so that there was high-level thinking as well as tangible, quick-to-implement takeaways. From sessions on what’s next in privacy and security to incorporating wellness products to succession planning we’ve developed a program that will provide value to attendees no matter their company’s size or role within the industry.”
The Leadership Conference kicks off with an opening keynote by David Rendall, who will provide an unconventional seven-part framework for achieving competitive separation by embracing flaws, instead of fixing them. Following the opening keynote, attendees will have an opportunity to choose two courses that interest them most.
Over the lunch general session, attendees will hear the latest economic and housing forecast from Mark Boud, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of Metrostudy, a Hanley Wood company.
The afternoon session offers two additional courses for attendees to choose from covering topics such as attracting and retaining talent, successfully navigating the lighting business, and building a great brand.
Following the Leadership Conference, attendees have a break before the CEDIA Awards Celebration. Cocktail hour begins at 7:00 p.m. with the Awards presentation beginning at 8:00.
“The Drake is going to provide such an iconic backdrop to recognize this year’s CEDIA Award winners. We look forward to celebrating with our members at this event and all the way through CEDIA Expo,” said Giles Sutton, senior vice president of industry engagement.
As part of the “Road to CEDIA Expo,” CEDIA and Emerald Expositions are pleased to announce they will be awarding category winners in the Americas region with a CEDIA Expo travel package including flight reimbursement up to $500 and a three-night hotel stay at this year’s CEDIA Expo. As well, CEDIA Award winners will be featured in communications and promotions both at show and year-round.
The CEDIA Awards & Leadership Conference will be held at the Drake Hotel in Chicago July 24-25. Early bird pricing for the conference and awards event is $700 member/$1,000 non-member for an individual; tables of 10 are $7,670 and members will receive a 15% discount and CEDIA Expo exhibitors will receive an additional 15% discount for a member/exhibitor price of $5,900.
