New intelligent IP power distributor in compact housing
GUDE Systems presents its latest Power Distribution Unit (PDU): The “Expert Power Control 1141” is a network-compatible multiple socket for up to 4 connected end devices
With the “Expert Power Control 1141,” the German manufacturer presents its latest power distribution system for professional AV users: the remote power switch is integrated into a sturdy metal housing and, thanks to its compact housing size, is suitable for space-saving mounting in any AV installation. Behind displays, TV screens, under table tops or in narrow media furniture, the “Expert Power Control 1141” can be put into operation with just a few minutes of mounting time. The UL and TAA compliant PDU has four IEC C13 connections on the front and therefore allows switching, monitoring and energy measurement of up to four connected consumers.
Avoiding complications in Smart Homes
The extensive switching functionality of the smart PDU enables the connected end devices to be switched on or off at any time thanks to protected remote access. Particularly in the event of faults like frozen play-out systems, a remote reboot initiated via the “Expert Power Control 1141” often leads to the root cause of the operating problem being solved. Thanks to the integrated monitoring function using so-called “watchdogs”, this can also be done fully automatically without user intervention.
The sensor port on the front of the device allows the connection of ready-to-use sensors (plug-and-play). This allows the ambient temperature and humidity to be measured and monitored on site with little effort. Programmable threshold values ensure that switching operations are initiated automatically in the event of system-critical conditions such as overheating or excessive humidity. The user is informed by corresponding warning messages in real time.
Less truck-rolls for AV integrators
The IP power strip can be configured and controlled via a web-based control center in addition to local access. This offers simple and location-independent management and monitoring of the PDU. Secure communication and authentication is guaranteed thanks to appropriate protocol support. For AV integrators, this leads to better and faster managed service: time and cost consuming service calls can be effectively reduced while truck rolls are avoided. In addition, the PDU can be easily integrated into a large number of control solutions from well-known providers of AV media control systems such as Crestron Home, Savant, Control4 and QSYS: The free Plug-n-Play drivers mean less stress and hassle for any responsible of smart home projects.
