Design + Connection Tours
The Design + Connection Tours, held on September 12 and 13, will mutually benefit designers and integrators alike as the tours serve the purpose of creating a professional dialogue about the intelligently built connected environment. The tours will be led and curated by two technology integrators and will lead 10-15 certified designers around select exhibitor booths. The Design Connection Tour will begin at Control4 booth #3013.
MEET THE INTEGRATORS
In 2004, Jamie Briesemeister and her husband co-founded Integration Controls, a home automation company out of St. Louis, MO, that focuses on providing intuitive, design-friendly technology solutions that enhance and simplify life. Jamie has spoken at a number of conferences and seminars, advocating for home technology considerations in the design/build process, often times as a part of a panel, presenting informative sessions, or offering CEUs to architects and designers. She has written for Connected Design and Residential Tech Today, emphasizing the need for collaboration in the design/build space as well as customer service, business relations, and more. Jamie is a Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Outreach Instructor (COI) and avidly volunteers for CEDIA as a member of the Industry Advisory Relationship Council and as chair of the Business Working Group.

Peter C. Cook is Founder and President of Automation Design + Entertainment, Inc. of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a CEDIA Certified Electronic System Designer as well as a CEDIA Level One Installer and THX certified home theater designer. He is the former CEDIA University business dean as well as Past Chair of the Electronic Lifestyle Outreach events throughout the country. He has over twenty six years of experience in the sales, design, project management, and ownership of a custom electronics design and installation business located in West Michigan. He has designed, installed, and serviced residential electronic systems in mid to high end custom homes for close to three decades. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and practical expertise to the technology community. His company has been chosen as a prestigious CE Pro Top 100 Dealer on multiple occasions and has earned the exclusive HAI Five Star Award Dealer for ten consecutive years..

MEET THE DESIGNER/BUILD PROFESSIONALS
Alena Capra, is the owner of the Fort Lauderdale based firm, Alena Capra Designs. She has over 16 years’ experience as an interior designer, and has worked on numerous residential design projects throughout South Florida, as well as in New York, Minnesota, Massachusetts, California, and Arizona. In addition to being a national award winning interior designer, Alena is also a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD) with the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Doug Walter is an architect in Denver, who has specialized in residential remodeling for the past 40 years. He has special expertise in lighting, accessibility, historic preservation, and kitchens & baths. Since 2015, he has been a Contributing Editor for Pro Remodeler magazine, where he has penned about 10 articles on lighting. He has presented at five of the past six Kitchen & Bath Industry Shows, and is on the NKBA Chapters presentation program.
Dean Larkin, AIA, is architect and principal at Dean Larkin Design. His award-winning, full service residential, commercial, hospitality and landscape designs and completed projects span the globe. Dean is an active member of USCs Architectural Guild; aside from this he is a frequent speaker and writer on many architectural issues.
Erin Ware is an award winning kitchen and bath design professional and the Owner of Wild Wood Cabinetry & Design located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has a degree in Interior Architecture, holds the appellations CKD, CAPS, CLIPP through the National Kitchen and Bath Association, NHBA, and Living in Place Institute. She has been practicing her craft since 1993.
An Interior Designer of 20 years, Paula Kennedy’s firm Timeless Kitchen Design is a second career post-Corporate America. A love of kitchen and bath design offered her the opportunity to combine left-brain technical details and with the ability to play with right-brain space and color.Paula is an NKBA Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD), a Certified Architectural Color Consultant (CACC), and has received her CLIPP Certified Living in Place designation through the Living in Place Institute.
Toni Sabatino is an award winning interior designer, cabinetry specialist, furniture designer and spatial planner serving the renovation and new construction market throughout the New York Metropolitan Area, Palm Beach, Las Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Vermont and other resort locations. Toni currently serves as the NKBA Manhattan Chapter President, is a member of the Kitchen and Bath Business Editorial Advisory Board and is the designer of the Retro Collection of bath furniture for Baden Haus.
Dawn DeLuca, AKBD, CLIPP, CAPS, is an award-winning Designer and Founding Principal of Dawn DeLuca On Design, a boutique firm and cabinet dealer providing design services to both trade and residential clients based in NYC. Dawn has been a local, regional & national volunteer with the NKBA since 2005 and is currently a member of the NKBA Manhattan Council. She also has been designated as the First Ambassador Member of The Living in Place Institute.
Michael Kaestner of Kaestner Designs is a 15+ year veteran in the Kitchen & Bath Industry. His passionate pursuit to deliver exceptional spaces to his clientele is second only to his desire to be at the forefront of his industry. A lifetime student of the trade, Michael is consistently attending both national and regional interior design shows and events in an effort to provide insight to his audience. Michael obtained CLIPP certification through the Living In Place Institute in 2019.
Barbara Haberman has been with Bloomingdale’s 59th St flagship store since 2013, specializing in fashion for the home (housewares, home décor, home furnishings and appliances). Style, decorating, and design remains a passion for her. Barbara’s clients include interior designers, contractors, real estate agents, and consumers in need of products and décor for kitchen, bed and bath, tabletop—Basically all living spaces.
Coming from the Virgin Islands gives Sarah the love of bold color, unique designs and pattern infused spaces. Open since 2015 creating exciting spaces for her clients. Not one for all white space she loves to work on spaces that stand out for her clients. Having fallen in love with bold, patterned wallpaper you can often find this the subject of Sarah’s blog.
Veronika is the Founder and CEO of Modenus and creative mind behind BlogTour. With decades of experience in marketing as well as interior and kitchen & bath design, Veronika connects the dots between the business and creative facets of successful interior design practices. Veronika and her team curate all content in Modenus product showcase and project portfolios and scour the globe to share design inspiration from North America, Europe and beyond with their readers.
Barbara Barton has over 35 years of experience in the Kitchen and Bath Industry, with several years working with kitchen and bath dealerships as well as two major appliance distributors. She was Showroom Manager for a Bath Showroom in Atlanta, Ga. for five years, having designed the showroom and service clientele with everything from Design to Project Management.
Scott Pozzo is General Manager of Chouteau Building Group, LLC. Since 1982, CBG has been custom building and renovating St. Louis’ finest homes. With a focus on highly custom construction of the finest quality, CBG is known for professionalism, communication, attention to detail, good taste, and a great user experience. Prior to the construction industry, Scott was General Manager of a textile recycler/exporter.
Jeff Hochman is owner of Chouteau Building Group. The company has been doing custom renovation work in St. Louis, MO since 1982. Our work is is high design, custom and award winning. Jeff and his team are known for their attention to detail, great communication skills, and an understanding of what it takes to produce great designed projects from traditional to contemporary.
Having earned his CKD, CBD and CMKBD credentials from the NKBA by the age of 27, John has over 28 years’ experience in designing award-winning custom kitchens, baths, home offices, wine cellars & home theaters.John is also a Certified Aging in Place specialist by the National Association of Homebuilders. As such, there isn’t a phase of life or construction where John doesn’t exceed expectations, perhaps in part due to his formative education in architectural design.
Jeremy is third generation in the residential construction industry, and has a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces. He obtained his AKBD Certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and has won multiple design awards. Jeremy keeps busy with his family, golfing, snowboarding, and volunteering for the NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter where he will serve as President for 2020 and 2021.
Mark is the Sales Manager for BAC Appliance, A Ferguson Enterprise. He has a background in developing an experiential landscape for the appliance and consumer electronics industries over the past 20 years. Creating a cohesive experience for connected home products is a passion that is now coming of age.
Peter Pannomarew has been the General Manager at ACGC Group (Alex Construction General Contracting Group) as well as the Founder of Arch Building Solutions a custom Home Design and build Firm. Daily activities include acquiring new clients/projects as well as on site project management. For the past 10 years our two companies have worked on hundreds of projects ranging from simple flooring replacements in a home to building commercial structures throughout the state of Colorado. Peter Pannomarew is a Class B registered Contractor is the state of Colorado as well as a nationally ranked member of the ICC.
Michele Youell’s design company, Natural Domain Interiors, has had the privilege of creating award-winning commercial and residential interiors both locally and nationally for 19 years. Michele’s guiding principal is that the most beautiful interiors come to life from a dynamic collaboration between our client’s inspirations and the designer’s skill, creativity, and passion for innovation.
Susie Feia is the design half of Feia Construction, a family-owned, award-winning design/build firm based in Waukesha, WI. Together with her husband Duane, they have a unique team approach and have been renovating homes for over 34 years. Susie is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) and Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP). She is actively involved in the industry, both with NARI & NKBA.
With the idea of entrepreneurship, RMD Designs started as a home-based design business. But the practice grew and now employs a small staff in a small boutique showroom. The showroom focuses on interior designs, kitchen and bath designs, and building additions/expansions in residential and commercial projects. The newest addition to its services is a partnership with integrators to bring projects that incorporate home/office technology.
Faris is COO & Lead designer at TVL Creative. Whether working with the team or clients, she elevates those around her with a strong passion for thoughtful design solutions and a love of collaboration. Faris is an award-winning interior designer with a background in Scandinavian furniture, styling, and customer service. As a true humanitarian-minded Aquarius, she whole-heartedly connects with TVL Creative’s vision of redefining the industry standards to be approachable, accessible, and built on bettering the lives of everyone from client to contractor.
Always up for an adventure, Sarah Puetz moved to Colorado in September 2015 to join the Lowe’s team as a Project Specialist Interior. She then transitioned to the Project Specialist Exterior roll in early 2019. She loves to ski, spend time outdoors, and travel (usually with her dachshund, Jackson). From her earliest days volunteering with AmeriCorps*NCCC in Charleston, South Carolina Sarah has been involved in construction projects working with both non-profit and commercial construction firms. Following her two terms of service with NCCC she attended Design School at Auburn University.

DJ Carey is the editor in chief of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens and Editorial Director of Cottages & Gardens Publications. CTC&G is a monthly magazine that she helped launch in September 2004. Like its sister publications in the Hamptons, New York the magazine celebrates the diverse design, architecture and lifestyle of the state. Before assuming this position she was a free-lance design editor for numerous national publications, Her extensive knowledge of design, architecture, entertaining, crafts and decorative arts contributes to successful editorial and advertising features for national magazines.
Eric is the founder of Catapult Communications, offering brand awareness and sales strategies to strengthen clients’ go-to-market offerings. He is also the co-founder and publisher of Technology Designer Magazine, Website and e-newsletter. Past recipient of The Torch of Liberty Award by the ADL. Eric also, Co-chairs the Annual ADL Consumer Technology Dinner. Launched CEWEEK, an event for innovative companies to meet the press, retailers and Investment community. Eric, also launched Future Vision which is an Executive Level event designed to build relationships that yield future business.
With over seven years of consumer goods journalism experience, Grant joined TWICE as the Senior Editor in 2019, eager to learn about the dealer, retailer and manufacturer side of the industry. Grant has over 10 years of experience in training and management and previously served as a Managing Editor at Top Ten Reviews. He enjoys being one of the first to see and report on innovations coming from the world of consumer electronics, appliances and outdoor products. He also loves spending time with his wife and son, reading, and watching anime.
Dan DiClerico is an experienced speaker and thought leader in the real estate, remodeling and home product space. DiClerico joined HomeAdvisor in 2017 as the company’s smart home strategist, overseeing all content related to smart homes and the internet of things.Prior to joining HomeAdvisor, DiClerico was the senior home editor of Consumer Reports, where he produced award-winning content on real estate, remodeling and other topics. He was also the senior associate editor of Martha Stewart Living and the associate editor of This Old House.
Erinn Loucks is the managing editor of Kitchen and Bath Business (KBB) Magazine. She has been in the design media industry for nine years, covering everything from hospitality and commercial design to new products, trends and projects in the residential sector.
